Mirela Baba

Pianist & Composer

Mirela Baba is a classically trained pianist and composer. As a scholarship holder from the Swedish government, she continued her piano studies in the classical department at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she obtained a master’s degree in piano and music education. She had the privilege to work with some of the most renowned and prestigious pianists in Sweden, including Andres Kilstrom, Staffan Scheja, Stefan Bojsten, Mats Widlund, Greta Eriksson and others.

A few years later, Mirela discovered her passion for composing music, which has become her primary professional activity since then. Despite her entire classical musical education, her compositions often reflect a combination of different musical traditions. She is continually amazed by the incredible power of music and its crucial role in creating diverse ambiances.

Awards 2024

Mirela made it to the top 20 in the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition, competing among 166 composers from 37 countries.

Finalist of the Film Scoring Competition ScoreLive London 2024 with the tune “The Queen’s Farewell”.

1st Prize for the composition “In love” at the International Clavierland Mozart Classical Music Competition 2024 in Vienna, Austria.
